Group Design Leader – Interior & Exterior Systems

Workplace: 418 32, Gothenburg

What to expect:

  • Coordinate design and development activities for interior and exterior components (e.g. door trims, cockpit, bumpers, closures, lighting, mirrors)
  • Ensure alignment with project timing, technical requirements, and cost targets across the product lifecycle
  • Lead component development through the entire VPDS / DVP cycle, from concept to SOP
  • Act as the main interface between engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality functions
  • Organize and moderate Design Reviews, ensuring design maturity, issue tracking, and documentation
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with technical regulations and design prerequisites (TR/DPR)
  • Support change management, testing, and validation processes for assigned components
  • Drive continuous improvement and support cross-functional collaboration throughout the development process
 

What you bring along:

  • Proven experience as Group Design Leader, Design & Release Engineer (D&R), or Project Engineer within automotive development
  • Strong understanding of product development systems (e.g. VPDS, DVP, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Catia V5 (plastics or sheet metal) and Teamcenter (PDM/PLM)
  • Familiarity with local OEM process knowledge, article management, and KDP database
  • Hands-on experience with FSS (Full Service Supplier) or Build-to-Print environments
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent English, proactive and structured working style
  • A strong can-do mindset and high sense of ownership
  • This role requires on-site collaboration at our Gothenburg location and candidates must hold valid work authorization in Sweden.
